Elmbridge Under 14s : Go down bravely against Eastern Rhinos.



Elmbridge Under 14s continued there start to the season with a hard fought defeat, with a score line that in the end flattered a well organised Easter Rhinos team. For the majority of the game, The Rhinos achieved a completion rate of 80-90% with ball in hand.


There were many positives for Elmbridge, not least having 19 players available on a match day. Within this group were a further 4 players playing their first game of Rugby League and with a further 4 players who had not played at the club since their time in the Primaries section.


The game was evenly poised, at 10 v 18 to the Rhinos, just before half time but with Eastern Rhinos just nudging away  to a lead of 10-24 with the last play of the first half, on a hot summers day.


The second half saw the Rhinos extending there lead and finishing 54-26 winners. The Elmbridge players themselves identifying the areas to work on in training. Try scorers for Elmbridge were Freddy Lidderdale, Josh Epstein and with a valiant second half hat-trick from Ben Waghorn, Captain Charlie Mayhew successful with 3 conversion attempts.
