Elmbridge U16's Vs Surrey Sharks

The U16 were unlucky to just draw the high scoring but error strewn game, on a hot Saturday. The game was played at Reeds rugby club Whitely Village due to the Elmbridge pitches being unplayable as they were still recovering from a wet few months.

The game kicked off as 10 a side as Surrey were short a few players. Elmbridge had the advantage of a few substitutes but some handling errors by the Eagles lead to a few easy tries for the Sharks and at half time the was a lead of 8 points for Surrey.

Elmbridge kicked of the second half well and scored a few quick tries but still trailed due to missed conversions. Eventually - following some good pressure - a further 2 quick tries lead to a 4 points lead with 2 minutes to go.

With a couple of injuries to the Sharks the game was now 8 versus 8 on a full size pitch  and there was space for running the ball. Surrey scored a try in the last minute but missed the tough conversion chance for the game to finish 48-48

The U16 team remain unbeaten so far this season but know they will have to eliminate handling errors to progress into the knockout stages of the league.
