First Festival of 2020 for Juniors

Mar, 2020

Elmbridge Eagles Junior Section kick off their season!

After welcoming 8 teams from across the London R.L family; Brentwood Eels, Bromley Bengals, Hemel Stags, Invicta Panthers, London Skolars, North Herts, Pittshangers.  A young and skilful Elmbridge U14 side started well at OCs being knocked out in the semi of the Cup competition by Bromley Bengals, after victories in the Polo stages against London Skolars, Invicta Panthers and Brentwood Eels. Bromley went on to face a strong Hemel Stags side in the final but were overcome in an end to end golden point extra time with a 4 tries to 3 win by the Stags.

In the Plate competition there was another golden point extra time situation with Brentwood Eels, eventually winning out over North Herts Crusaders 3 tries to 2.

The Club would like to thank the staff and volunteers at OCs for working magic in preparing the surfaces for the festival after what has been a really long heavy rain period. The club would also like to thank Chris Shaw from the Leeds Rhinos Coach Education group for volunteering his time to come and assist at the event.

Mean while the U13s opened up their account at Hemel Stags again competing well with some even contests at their opening 9s festival.

The U16s group travelled to Eastern Rhinos and again developed as the day progressed.

The teams await their respective fixture lists for their forth coming League campaigns.
